I oppose this war with Iraq. I’m certainly not opposed, however, to the president and vice president, as well as all the other people who agree with them, joining up with a “supporters” unit that would be the first to go over and put their lives on the line to prove how much they really believe in this conflict.
Since President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney both wimped out on Vietnam, this might do them some good.
If you champion a war but you’re not willing to be among the first to die for this position, then you have no moral justification for asking others, like my children, to give up their lives for a belief they may not hold.
