Some have blamed organized religion for the world’s violence, but they show an utter ignorance of history. The two world wars of the 20th Century were completely secular and killed tens of thousands. Meanwhile, Mother Teresa worked to helped starving people in Calcutta and Catholic bishops worked to broker peace among violent street gangs in Los Angeles.
Religion is no more or no less a cause of violence than anything else. Violence is a human act.
