Leroy W. Berg, 87, of 500 Centennial Drive, Apt. 102, East Peoria, formerly of Mt. Prospect, IL, died on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at Riverview Manor Care in East Peoria. He was born May 26, 1915 in Chicago, IL to Walter and Amelia Sundstrom Berg; he married Melba E. Hansen on June 28, 1937 in Chicago, IL, who died February 18, 1985; surviving are one brother, Ted Berg of Melrose Park, IL; six granddaughters; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; he was preceded by his parents, two brothers and two sons, James Berg (June 23, 1986) and William Berg (January 6, 1994). He worked over 30 years at Dole Valve Company, later becoming United Beverage Products in Chicago, IL, retiring in 1981. In his early years he was raised in the Swedish Covenant Lutheran Church in Chicago, IL. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Memory Garden and Mausoleum Cemetery Chapel in Arlington Heights, IL There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Ludwig Mortuary, Morton, IL. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
