Salt Creek Ballet opens its 17th season of holiday performances of “The Nutcracker” Nov. 30 with two shows in Hinsdale Central High School in Hinsdale. Performances are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.; tickets are $24 for adults and $21 for children.
Salt Creek Ballet alumna Katherine Bruno will appear as the Sugar Plum Fairy and guest artist Alexander Kozadayev will dance the role of the Cavalier. Other guest performers will include the Glen Ellyn Children’s Chorus.
Bruno, Kozadayev and the chorus also will be featured in a “Nutcracker” benefit performance at 1 p.m. Dec. 1 in the high school, 55th and Grant Streets.
Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for children and include a post-performance Sugar Plum party with refreshments. Proceeds benefit the non-profit ballet company.

The company also will stage “The Nutcracker” at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Dec. 7 in Paramount Theatre, 23 E. Galena Blvd., Aurora. Guest dancers include Yan Chen as the Sugar Plum Fairy and David Makhateli as the Cavalier.

All productions will be directed by Sergey Kozadayev and Zhanna Dubrovskaya.
Accompaniment will be provided by the 50-piece Salt Creek Ballet, directed by Stephen Squires.
