District 304 has scheduled a Dec. 9 public hearing to discuss its upcoming tax levy increases.

The levy is $46 million, up 27.22 percent over 2001 levels. The increase reflects newly developed property being added to both the tax rolls and to school enrollment projections. Enrollment in the district has more than doubled since 1990,

Between 1995 and 2001, estimated assessed value of Geneva properties increased from $445 million to $747 million, school officials said.

The hearing is set for 8 p.m. at 227 N. 4th St.
