Ernest A. Fredette, 70, died Monday, Nov. 18, in his Prospect Heights home. He was born on Chicago’s West Side, and lived most of his life in the city. He was a Navy veteran who served in the Korean War. During the 1970s and 1980s he worked as a salesman in Chicago for Windsor Publications, a California-based book publisher. He was a devoted Chicago Cubs and Bears fan who held season tickets for the Bears. “His mood was up or down depending on whether they won or lost,” said his daughter, Eileen Brown. Other survivors include his wife, Margaret; two sons, James and Michael; two more daughters, Jean Hulsman and Susan Moffet; and 11 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
