James E. Kaphusman, 67, loving husband and best friend for 47 years of Dominica Ann; beloved father of James (Maureen), John (Tracy) and the late Jeffrey; proud grandfather and papa to James, Andrew, Johnny and Jason; dear brother of Phyllis (John), Rosean and the late Celine and Jerry McCourt; fond brother-in-law to Mary Ann and Ronald Snell and Beverly and the late Dr. Paul M. Tullio; dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. James was a retired employee of the General Services Administration and a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. During his lifetime he was involved in many community and service organizations, including The Boy Scouts of America, and helped start The Neighborhood Crime Watch Program in Chicago. He was also actively involved as a lay person in the Catholic Church for many years as a eucharistic minister and a teacher of religious education. He touched the lives of many and will be missed by all. Funeral Saturday 9:30 a.m. from Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien, to Our Lady of Peace Church.
