The Tribune’s longstanding claims of objectivity in its coverage of its sister company, the Cubs, lost any remaining semblance of credibility with the sports section’s shameless recruiting of Dusty Baker for Cubs manager. Companies typically pay a fee to headhunters to fill upper management positions. Luckily for the Cubs, the Tribune provides such services for free; they’ll need all the money they can to pay Baker’s outrageous salary.
