Robert W. Tivnan, 82, of Crystal Lake, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002 at home with hospice care. He was born August 29, 1920 in Chicago. He was a veteran flyer having served in the 390th Bomb Squad in WW II. After the war, Mr. Tivnan joined Alexander & Alexander Insurance Services. He retired after 35 years as a vice president. He was a member of the Lafayette Council #361 Knights of Columbus. Beloved son of the late Peter A. and the late Irene, nee Verheeck, Tivnan; devoted husband of the late Georgine Rose, nee Wendell; loving father of Margaret (Robert) Dudek, Carol (George) Jakucki, Theresa (Mark) Brenner, Robert (Patricia, nee Wright) Tivnan and Pamela (Richard) Kortan; dear brother of Patricia Ragusin; fond grandfather of Katherine (Thomas) Dudek Woodard, Daniel (Megan), Andrew and Sarah Dudek, Valerie (Daniel) Jakucki Fazendin, Caryn (Robb Moore) Jakucki, Allison and Jaclyn Jakucki, Breen, Grace and Patrick Tivnan, Torin, Tess, Madeline and Maxine Brenner, Ashley and Matthew Kortan; and great-grandfather of Ted and Caleb Woodard and Jackson and Miles Fazendin. Resting at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176) Crystal Lake on Sunday, November 24 from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral mass at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 25 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Rte. 176 and Oak St. in Crystal Lake. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Northeastern Illinois would be appreciated.
