Surprise–the Tribune finally published the horrible facts and consequences (“What could go wrong in the war with Iraq,” Commentary, Nov. 17) of President Bush’s determination to settle his vendetta with Saddam Hussein through the invasion of Iraq by U.S. forces.
The probabilities suggested by columnist Steve Chapman (poison gas, nerve gas, chemical and biological weapons) should be screaming headlines before the fact rather than after the fact.
The citizens of the U.S. who are blindly following Bush should shed their blinders and demand rational alternatives and reasoned explanations.
