Two Waukegan men charged in a string of armed robberies in Lake County are being held in lieu of $250,000 bond each, authorities said Monday.

Mitchell Gardner, 19, of the 600 block of Atlantic Avenue, and Claude Davenport, 20, of the 600 block of Pickus Court, were arrested Saturday by Lake County detectives who were looking for a Dodge Intrepid used as a getaway car in the four robberies, police said.

The holdups occurred last week in Gurnee, Waukegan, Beach Park and Winthrop Harbor, police said. In each case, the victim was robbed on the street, authorities said.

Both men were also charged with aggravated use of a weapon and aggravated battery. Gardner was charged with resisting arrest, police said.
