Regarding the rioting in Columbus, I wonder how many two-person police patrols were on the ground, being seen, counseling calm and mostly being a presence (“Vicious in victory; Revelers after OSU football win turn to vandalism and violence,” Tempo, Nov. 25)? While lines of cops are a target, pairs of cops can talk and reason. So it makes me wonder if a proactive approach might work as opposed to the one that doesn’t.
