Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
At age 85 my dad made a tape about his life. Wooden sidewalks in Chicago, horse-drawn streetcars, living upstairs of the car barn bandits, meeting Buffalo Bill Cody, going to work at age 12 and, best of all, World War I in France.
He attended a Salvation Army service the eve before a big battle and the hymn sung that night was still clear in his mind. He sings this hymn on the tape and I even get tears in my eyes now as I think about it.
