A Niles man died Tuesday of injuries he suffered when he lost control of his car and crashed into an oncoming car in the Jefferson Park neighborhood.
Cuong Ta, 19, of the 6800 block of West Oakton Court was pronounced dead at 5:24 p.m. in Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, said a Cook County medical examiner’s spokesman.
Ta was driving south on Caldwell Avenue near Greenleaf Avenue about 1:30 p.m. when he tried to overtake a driver in the other southbound lane and lost control of his car, said police spokesman Carlos Herrera.
Ta’s car then hit an oncoming truck. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries, Herrera said.
