Merritt “Jack” Davoust, 75, of Elmhurst, formerly of Chicago, beloved husband of Lynne Rauscher-Davoust; loving father of Paul (Nancy), Mark (Melody) and Lisa; grandfather of Natalie; brother of Donald (June) Davoust, Clark (Susan) Davoust and Richard (Christina) Davoust; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Mr. Davoust was an international consultant, world traveler and local symphony supporter. As a Senior Management Consultant with A.T. Kearney, he had a successful 33 year career helping clients manage their business needs. He was also a valuable mentor to many individuals. His career as a Management Consultant allowed Mr. Davoust to travel to various national and international clients’ sites, and with his additional personal love for traveling he visited all 50 United States, 115 countries and all seven continents. He was Valedictorian of St. George H.S. in 1945, received his B.S. from IIT and his MBA from the University of Chicago. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his education and military service Mr. Davoust was Director of Customer Service for Inland Steel and later the Vice President Administration for Orenda/ Hawker-Siddley. He was a strong supporter of the arts in particular the symphony. He served as the Fox Valley Symphony President from 1964 to 1974. He helped to grow the local Elmhurst Symphony and served on the Board from 1978 until his death. He was a substantial benefactor of the local Elmhurst Art Museum. Visitation at the Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 S. Spring Road, Elmhurst from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. till time of Commemorative Services 12 p.m. Saturday January 11. Interment private.
