Eldor Gustav Rupp, 90, of Naples, FL, formerly of Crystal Lake, IL, died Monday, Jan 6, 2003. He was born May 28, 1912 in Avoca, MN to Jacob and Amelia Rupp. On May 29, 1937 he married Hildegard C. Ostlie in Montevideo, MN. He was employed at Quaker Oats Research Laboratory in Chicago and Barrington for 38 years. He received his Master’s Degree in biochemistry at the University of Minnesota. He was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, YMCA Board of Crystal Lake, Assistant Director of Research at Quaker Oats Research Lab in Barrington and Boy Scout leader. Survivors include his wife, Hildegard; his children, Gerald (Nina) Rupp of Dallas, Lynne Haarlow of Chicago and Naples, John (Liz) Rupp of Richmond, VA and Sara of Gastonia, NC; his grandchildren, Jeff, Linda, Mark, Julie, Leslie, Bill, Lauren, Blair, Andrew, Lisa, Peter, Katherine and Joseph; and his great-grandchildren, Kerry, Jacob, Nicholas, Drew, Linnea, Sophie, Bill and Genny. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Bill Haarlow. A Memorial Service in Crystal Lake will be scheduled at a later date.
