Rev. Peter Mascari, age 82, of Sherman, IL, died Monday, December 30, 2002, born December 16, 1920 in Chicago IL to Michael and Rose Condioto Mascari. Married to Violet Maribella and she preceded him in death. Survived by one sister, Rose Soby of Sherman, one brother Salvatore (Agnes) Mascari of Chicago; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his wife; three borthers, James, Charles and John Mascari and three sisters, Concetta Mascari, Marie Kulik and Mary Cedrone. He was a Priest – Diocese of Springfield in Illinois. Ordained May 31, 1952. Assistant at St. Anthony, Effingham 1952-1953; St. Mary, Pittsfield, 1953-1957. Pastor at Holy Family, Athens and St. John Vianney, Sherman 1957-1993. Retired 1993. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Riverton and Athens. He was an Army Veteran serving in WWII. Private graveside services were held.
