The letter from the telemarketer was a wonderful example of the modern idea that government interference is somehow inherently evil. The telemarketer wants to make a living “free from government interference” without ever pausing for a second to realize that what he’s doing is the equivalent of breaking into people’s houses.
Government interference prevents home invasion, burglary and a host of other evils.
Putting a stop to telemarketing is a worthy goal, and since the people who do it won’t stop, a higher power needs to step in and do it.
