Celebrity giant panda Gaogao, a television star in China, has left his homeland for a U.S. zoo in hopes that he will mate with a female called Baiyun, the official Xinhua news agency reported.
The 11-year-old male panda, whose name means Lofty, traveled in style with several trunkloads of food. He is expected to have his first mating session with Baiyun at the San Diego Zoo in March.
