Brother Jude Heggy, FSC, “William Howard”, age 82, US Marine Corps Veteran of WWII, late of Chicago and formerly of Canton, Ohio, passed away Friday, January 17, 2003. Saw action in Guadalcanal and “all the islands”, De La Salle Christian Brother for 51 years, taught 41 years in the Chicagoland area including St. Patrick HS and De La Salle Institute in Chicago, St. Francis HS in Wheaton and St. Joseph HS in Westchester. Beloved son of late George (late Anna, nee Decker) Heggy; loving brother of George Alvin (Virginia Marie) Heggy, late Karl Heggy, late Gretchen Schaffner and late Jean Pannier; fond uncle of three nieces and two nephews. Funeral Mass Tuesday, January 21, 2003, at 7 p.m. at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 5900 W. Barry Ave., Chicago. Interment Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation Tuesday from 4 p.m. until time of Mass at 7 p.m. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sheldon-Goglin Funeral Home, 5935 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago.
