Those upset with George Ryan should redirect their anger.

The police decided that it was easier to use brutality and violence and eschew an investigation.

The prosecutors decided to focus solely on their conviction rate and ignore the tactics of the police or the guilt or innocence of the accused.

To the families of the victims, I am sorry if you can only find solace in the death of another.

But how can killing another, especially an innocent, help you heal?

Ryan acted reasonably and with courage.

Many people know the system is flawed.

But no one else has had the guts to take the first step to reform.
