The toppling of Saddam Hussein’s statue is the kind of imagery that will be indelibly stamped in history books of the future.

Prior to the toppling, an overzealous U.S. Marine covered the statue’s face with an American flag. The incident lasted a mere 90 seconds, but that brief imagery may also be indelibly stamped on history books in the Arab world and that may come back to haunt us at some unexpected time in the future.
