Despite never winning an Academy Award, comedian Bob Hope turns 100 years old Thursday. In honor of a man who is probably older than you, here are a few things younger than Hope:

– Five living ex-presidents: Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Bill Clinton. Also, two dead ones (Lyndon Johnson and John F. Kennedy).

– Jet aircraft: Forget jets. Try powered flight (Dec. 17, 1903).

– Income taxes (1913): Tough break for Hope, who didn’t earn money until well after this.

– Mt. Rushmore (1925): Too soon to add Hope’s nose? Maybe.

– Model T Ford (1918): This means Hope is older than parallel parking.

– U.S. states Alaska (1959), Arizona (1912), Hawaii (1959), New Mexico (1912) and Oklahoma (1907).

– NBC TV (1926): Hope joined NBC in 1933 and still was passed over for “Friends.”
