4 Taste
415 N. Milwaukee Ave. 312-226-7850
“Fabulous! What a great date place: perfect for sharing small portions of delicious, original and well-prepared food. There’s a sexy setting, romantic lighting and incredible music, plus it’s small and intimate. The recommendations of our helpful, friendly and professional server were dead-on. I had the tenderloin, sweet potato salad and ravioli. I can’t wait to go back to try the seafood. Don’t pass up the creme brulee sampler!”

Cafe Suron
1146 W. Pratt Ave. 773-465-6500
“What a place! The art on the walls and the architecture make for a delightful setting. The charming, good-looking host/server is definitely ready for prime time, though the other servers need to learn to keep an eye on the tables. The food was truly fabulous: first-rate quality and artistic presentation for a reasonable price. Share an appetizer and a dessert, and bring a bottle of good wine.”

Hungry Brain
2319 W. Belmont Ave. 773-935-2118
“A quaint and quiet neighborhood place. Definitely a great place to go with your friends or a date. Very comfortable seating, friendly bartenders and interesting people. The music isn’t bad either.”

Xippo
3759 N. Damen Ave. 773-529-9135
“Xippo makes a great first impression. Since it’s off the beaten path, you can find street parking! On weekends you are greeted by a handsome doorman in a suit, but you won’t stand out if you wear jeans. The low-hanging dim lights and the not-too-loud, down-tempo house music make it the perfect place for a date. You can have a conversation without shouting. The $6 artichoke and spinach dip, although lacking zing, is a great snack for two. Also, where else can you get a $5 lemon martini on a Friday night?”

Prego
2901 N. Ashland Ave. 773-472-9190
“We live in the neighborhood and just discovered Prego. What a hidden treasure this restaurant is! It might not look like much from the outside, but it’s adorable inside. Definitely a good date restaurant. The risottos here are amazing and the service is excellent. The portions on some entrees could be slightly bigger.”

Trattoria Roma
1535 N. Wells St. 312-664-7907
“Yesterday was the first time I had the chance to dine here, and wow! The whitefish was awesome and the staff was great. I was really impressed overall. I arrived at around 9:30 p.m. and asked if it was still OK to order. The staff went out of their way for us. Bring a date–the restaurant is nice and cozy with a nice decor. Don’t skip dessert.”

“The food is exceptional. The owner is very hospitable and makes the experience more delightful. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun time and good food that is different. The back porch is beautiful. It’s a great date place that won’t cost you too much!”
