The Aug. 11 editorial stated that “Analogies help gauge vocabulary, logic and other higher-order thinking skills, such as testing how well students pick up on the link between one concept and another.” But in a word, that of Ivy League-educated George W. Bush, I think the value of analogy is “misunderestimated.”
