Broadcast

Haha Sound

Broadcast began like Stereolab’s psychedelic sister band, borrowing brazenly from semi-obscure experimental pop acts. But Broadcast’s retro-futuristic approach–music for the future in the mold of music from the past–has gradually evolved. On “Haha Sound,” the group’s personality has really begun to jell. It’s like diving into the pages of a particularly weird fairy tale, where it’s hard to tell up from down and left from right but it’s somehow always easy to find the way forward.
