Since Q’s debut on Sept. 15, 2002, we’ve brought you stories on everything from whether it’s healthy to keep secrets (short answer: no, with some caveats) to whether a guy can wear a thong with dignity (short answer: no, but it’s surprisingly comfortable).
Some stories engaged you on a personal level. You responded with enthusiasm when we asked you to help choose a dog for a Q staff reporter. And who knew you would have such passionate opinions about men who dress badly?
We’ve been entertained–and sometimes bemused–by your responses to 47 Challenges to date. Some of you have become such regular contributors that we’re running your photos with this week’s responses. (See Page 4.)
As we enter Year 2, we’re making some changes: a cleaner design and the addition of a couple of features. Check out Help Yourself on Page 2, a quick look at worthwhile self-help books. And The Guy Page, on Page 11, will offer a weekly roundup that we hope will both inform and amuse. The Guy Page is also where you’ll find Male Call, a weekly personal column that will ponder that Mars-Venus thing.
We’ll still have our regular features: Ask Amy, Style, Qurious Consumer, Diary, Health, Bob Condor and the rotating features Traditions, Gatherings and On the Block, which zero in on how Chicago-area residents live.
Join us as we head into another year. Who knows what you may learn? Thanks to Q, you already know that if you want to wear a thong in secret, it’s perfectly OK.
