So 92 percent of drivers describe themselves as “good” and 90 percent as “safe” (“The worst drivers? The `other’ guy,” Transportation, Aug. 31).
Yet 53 percent race on public roads. Forty-six percent drink and drive. And half have been pulled over by police.
Here’s a guide for local drivers: If you drive at the speed limit, use your signals, leave a two-second gap, slow down for yellow lights, are courteous to other drivers, never drink and drive, and never run red lights, then you can call yourself a safe driver.
Otherwise, you are part of the problem.
