Kathryn E. Bowes, 81, of 318 S. Sterling Ave., died at 5:22 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, in the emergency room at Methodist Medical Center. Born Nov. 10, 1922, in Chicago to Edward and Grace Johnston Gannon, she married Richard J. Bowes in April 1950, in River Forest. He died in September 1982, in Peoria. Surviving are two sisters, Sister Rosemary Gannon, O.P, of Des Plaines and Grace Hanley of Fort Walton Beach, FL. She graduated from Rosary College in River Forest. She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Peoria. A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 20 at the Trinity High School Chapel, Division St. entrance in River Forest. Cremation has been accorded. Burial of ashes will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove. Memorials may be made to Trinity High School, River Forest, IL.
