A taxi driver told police he was robbed after giving a man a ride from Iowa to Kansas on Thursday.
The driver was struck in the head and robbed after the passenger couldn’t come up with the $360 fare, police said.
A manager with Yellow Cab Co. in Des Moines said the passenger stopped the driver early Thursday and said he wanted to get home for Christmas.
After the cab arrived in Kansas City, the driver told police, the passenger asked to be driven to various addresses in an attempt to come up with the fare.
The driver was treated at a hospital and released.
