Your article about coyotes in Northbrook gave only part of the story (“Pet owners report attacks by coyotes; Northbrook has several incidents,” Metro, Dec. 23).
The dog that was attacked by a coyote while running loose in the forest preserve had no business being there.
Coyotes are wild animals that do belong there.
The rule is that dogs are not to be off leash because they harm wildlife and frighten people who have every right to be enjoying the preserves.
If the owner of the dog mentioned in the story had obeyed the law, no stitches would have been required.
