Brian Boucher made 26 saves for his third straight shutout, leading the Phoenix Coyotes to a 3-0 victory Sunday. Boucher has stopped 82 shots in the last three games and is unbeaten in seven starts (4-0-3).
“Right now the puck looks like a beach ball to him,” Phoenix coach Bob Francis said. “He’s following it, squaring up, getting sound positionally and his concentration level is outstanding.”
The Coyotes have won three in a row and earned at least a point in nine straight games.
Thrasher out for season
Atlanta forward Bill Lindsay had season-ending surgery Sunday to repair a fractured larynx.
Lindsay, 32, struck in the throat by a puck in the second period Saturday night against the Canadiens, is expected to remain hospitalized for seven to 10 days.
Lindsay was scoreless in 24 games this season.
Sakic day-to-day
Colorado Avalanche captain Joe Sakic is listed as day-to-day with a fractured jaw. Sakic was hit on the chin by a puck Wednesday in Calgary and underwent an unspecified procedure Saturday, the team said. He wore a full face shield Friday against Vancouver and didn’t play Sunday against Minnesota.
