John McMullen Ducey, age 93, beloved husband of the late Constance Phillips; loving father of Joanna (Joseph) Lawton and Constance (G. Lee) Coleman; grandfather of Daniel, Richard, Anthony and Edward Lawton and Conal and Peter Duffy; and 12 great-grandchildren. His great-grandfather, James McMullen, settled in Chicago in 1844. Former Director of Planning, Chicago Housing Authority, Director of the National Association of Housing Officials, Director of Housing Studies, Real Estate Research Corporation and founder of the Institute of Urban Life and graduate program in Urban Studies, Loyola University. Served as communications officer, on the battleship USS Pennsylvania, WWII. Memorial Service at St. Juliana Church, Fullerton, CA, 1 p.m. Jan. 10.
