Richard “Dick” “Rick” Baur, age 60, of Santa Fe, NM, formerly of Cottonwood, AZ and Glenview, IL, died Nov. 30 surrounded by his family, after a brief battle with cancer. Dear son of the late Helen, nee Weber and Adelbert Baur; devoted father of Jessica (Chris) Ballesteros of Cottonwood, AZ; fond brother of Lynn of Santa Fe, Thomas of Chicago, Barbara (Mark) Fidler of Dalton, GA, Lisa of Glenview and the late John Baur; “former wife and mother of Jessica,” Jeannie Corson of Rimrock, AZ; fun-loving uncle to Jennifer (Chad) Swaim, Natalie Fidler and Jimmy and Loren Wilkinson; loving companion and best friend of Carol Schutz. Rick was known for his ability to make people laugh and keep the dreams alive. His infectious smile, positive outlook and unconditional love will be sorely missed by a host of relatives and friends. Although we know that he cherished his private time, Rick’s true gift was in always making the people around him feel better after having been in his company. His spirit lives in all who knew him through the many “Baurisms” we have come to know and love. ‘God love ya’ brother Rick, until we meet again. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, January 10 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Loyola Academy, 1100 North Laramie Ave., Wilmette, IL 60091.
