Mark Daskovsky, age 49, died suddenly of a heart attack on Jan. 13, 2004 at his home in Annapolis, MD. Mark was an adventurer and an expert sailor who sailed across the Atlantic and through the Panama Canal, a talented musician, photographer and writer, someone who could fix almost anything and would if you asked him, a math prodigy who earned his ham radio license at age 11, a terrific cook, a great storyteller. He was a tremendously independent person, known as the “by myself” kid, but he was also a loyal and thoughtful friend, a loving son and brother, and a devoted uncle. He is mourned by his mother, Judith Daskovsky-Mittler; his brother and sister-in-law, David and Sheila (Mc Carthy); his nephews and nieces, John, Maddie and Annie; his cherished partner, Diane Archangeli; and by many others who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. at The Weinstein Family Services Wilmette Chapel, 111 Skokie Blvd. (1 block No. of Old Orchard). In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Christian Children’s Fund, 800-776-6767 through which Mark supported a South American child, or to the Annapolis Maritime Museum fund.
