Rose M. Bancroft, 89, of Lake Bluff since 1952, died peacefully January 16, 2004. Born August 5, 1914 in North Chicago. She worked as a baby-sitter at the Grace United Methodist Church in Lake Bluff for 25 years until 1999. During that time she baby-sat for two generations of some families. She cherished her doctor, Dr. John Lin. She greatly enjoyed watching the 2003 Chicago Cubs-Florida Marlins series. She was happy that the Marlins won because her son, Denis Bancroft, is the Marlin’s photographer. Wife of the late Wilbert (1963); mother of Denis Bancroft and Shirley (Dennis) Coppie; grandmother of Jodi Vanwinkle, Aura, Austin and Emma Rose Bancroft; great grandmother of Ashley and Dawson Vanwinkle and Enya Bancroft; mother-in-law of the late George Muzzarelli; honorary grandmother to many children of Lake Bluff.
