Looks like Randi Coy is going to need the prize money on “My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance” because her teaching job may not be waiting for her after the show.
Coy is a 1st-grade teacher at a Catholic school in Arizona. Her superiors there are less than happy about the show, which has the 23-year-old trying to trick her family into believing her sham marriage is real in order to win $1 million.
“You can’t be teaching and do a show like that,” Principal Bill Langley told The Arizona Republic.
The school, which requires faculty members to sign pledges that they’ll teach “Gospel values and self-discipline,” sent letters home to let parents know about Coy’s television appearance.
Coy has been on leave from the school since Thanksgiving, when she left to start taping the show.
