Felix Trinidad, 30, has decided to begin a boxing comeback and he has given Don King the green light to open negotiations with Oscar De La Hoya, according to reports.
“[Trinidad’s camp] sent me a letter giving me the rights to start negotiations with De La Hoya, Bernard Hopkins and Shane Mosley,” King told the New York Daily News.
Trindad, who won a controversial decision over De La Hoya in 1999, has a 41-1 record, the lone loss coming against Hopkins.
– Super welterweight champion Shane Mosley is suing promoter Cedric Kushner for more than $600,000 he said he’s owed from a July 2002 title fight against Vernon Forrest.
