After reading the Jan. 19 editorial on the Wilmette handgun ban, I have some advice for the village’s residents opposed to the ban: Go buy yourself a crossbow. Nothing instills terror in the heart of a home intruder more than a loaded crossbow aimed at him. And they are quiet, so they won’t disturb the sleep of either the village board or the chief of police.
