Glenn David Steinberg, 62, beloved husband of Mary, nee DiMasi; devoted father of Ellen Coven and Peter; proud grandfather of Claire Juliet Coven; loving stepfather of Evan Truesdale; and adoring son of Muriel Kollis Steinberg Newman. Born in Chicago, he lived on N. Sheridan Road, E. Lake Shore Drive, N. Astor St. and E. Delaware St. After graduating from Francis W. Parker School, he earned a BA in Art History at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, an MA in City Planning at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA at the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University. He worked as an urban planner at Urban Investment & Development Co., where he participated in the development of Water Tower Place and Dearborn Park in Chicago and Copley Place in Boston. He spent five years at the City of Chicago Planning Dept., working on projects in the North Loop. Years after that were spent managing the Old Orchard Country Club in Mt. Prospect, in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Among a wide variety of interests, he was a visual art expert, video afficionado, technology hound, photographer and photography obsessive, travel connoisseur, avid movie, theater and opera buff and a rabid book collector.
