As a direct descendant of Irish immigrants, perhaps I, too, deserve reparations from some top blue-chip companies for the illegal hiring practices allowed in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. The fact that I had to work as a housekeeper to pay my way through college I’m sure is a direct result of the “Irish need not apply” practices allowed during this time period. Never mind the fact that I am successful now because of my own hard work and tenacity; I want what is entitled to me from those who own stock in these blue-chip companies, who had absolutely nothing to do with this tragedy.
