– Chrysler Group has reduced the base price on its 2005 minivans that will go on sale in March by an average of almost $3,000 while adding more standard equipment, such as “Stow ‘n’ Go” second- and third-row seats that flip and fold flat into the floor on extended-length Chrysler and Dodge vans. The base price of the ’05 Dodge Caravan will be $18,995, including a $665 destination charge, $2,800 less than the $21,795 on the ’04 model. The top-of-the-line Chrysler Town & Country Limited will start at $35,750, including $680 for freight, down $2,630 from the ’04 price.
– Chevrolet has extended the powertrain warranty on the 2004 Aveo to five years/60,000 miles from three years/36,000. Aveo went on sale in December; the longer warranty is retroactive to include all models.
