Ann Berghausen Heekin Friedman, wife of the late Daniel H. Heekin and the late Arthur Friedman; mother of Polly Heekin Connell and the late Daniel M. Heekin; sister-in-law of Mrs. Edward Berghausen and Mrs. Robert C. Graham Jr.; grandmother of Amanda, Molly, Michael, John, Will and Kate; aunt to 13 nieces and nephews; cousin of Dr. Frederick Haffner; and friend to many, especially her forever friend, Mary Louise Hawley of Cincinnati. Ann was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where she attended The Lotspeich School and Hillsdale School. She adored her 4 years at Smith College from where she graduated in 1938. Her marriages took her to the Chicago area living at various times in both Hyde Park and Evanston. Ann was highly motivated to achieve at whatever pursuit she took on in her long life be it academics in school, the study of the piano, the acquisition of foreign languages, her interests in drama and dance, or the study of art and literature. She was a lady of great style, a fine hostess and a friend to many.
