Joseph A. Bricker, 77, of Wheaton, IL, passed away Feb. 9, 2004. He graduated from The University of the South in Sewanee, TN. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII. He worked as assistant general manager of the Chicago Stockyards for 20 years until they closed. Then he served as owner and operator of The Claris A. Bricker Ladies Apparel Store in Wheaton, IL until retiring. Survivors include his daughters, Leah A. Bricker of Seattle, WA and Sarah B. (Thomas) Putrim of Chicago; son, Joseph M. (Gretchen) Bricker of Indianapolis; sister, Polly Kroehnke and brother-in-law, Robert Kroehnke of Winfield, IL; nephews, Rob and John Kroehnke; four grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held on Friday, Feb. 13 in Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to The University of the South in Sewanee, TN or the Alzheimer’s Association.
