Fenwick defeated New Trier Green 2-1 to capture the second annual High School Invitational hockey championship at Lake Forest Academy.
Mike Janda scored the game-winning goal at 10 minutes 7 seconds of the third period, beating Tighe Burke, who had 20 saves. Fenwick’s Trevor Heffernan stopped 25 shots. New Trier’s Zach Novak scored a power-play goal in the first period on an assist from Dan Beatty, but Fenwick answered on Connor Chaken’s goal.
