Joseph James Hackett, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 in St. Joseph Hospital, beloved husband of Merilyn, nee McGurk; cherished father of Joan (Oscar Romero) Hackett of Chicago, Susan Hackett of Paris, France and Patricia (Peter Gilbert) of Chicago; very proud and loving grandfather of Olivier, Ian, Leo and Fay; dearest brother of Genevieve Hackett Jones (the late James) and Elaine Hackett, both of the Washington, DC area and the late James C. Hackett. Joe is survived by many dear relatives, friends and professional associates. He will be remembered as a WWII Signal Intelligence veteran, St. Ignatius High School graduate, University of Chicago graduate and proud member of Delta Kappa Epsilon. Former owner of Hackett Corporation and principal of WORD ALGEBRA! Computer Products. Private interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
