Chris Webber’s comeback was a runaway success. Webber had 26 points and 12 rebounds in his season debut, helping the host Sacramento Kings to a 113-106 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night.
Webber was cheered from the moment he took the court for the first time since injuring his knee in the second round of last season’s playoffs. In the interim, he had knee surgery, endured nine months of rehabilitation and was hit with an eight-game suspension for lying to a grand jury and violating the NBA’s drug policy.
Iverson ready to play
Allen Iverson is expected to return to Philadelphia’s lineup for Wednesday night’s game against the New York Knicks. Iverson practiced for the second straight day Tuesday, the Sixers said.
