Carl Piro, 87, of Zephyrhills, passed away March 3, 2004 in Zephyrhills. He is survived by his wife Mary S., nee Saleni, Piro of Zephyrhills; seven grandchildren Kimberly Franco of Naperville, IL, David Loftis of Aurora, IL, Steven Loftis of Rochester Hills, MI, Deborah Loftis of Kissimmee, FL, Katherine Bogert of Palm Coast, FL, Joe Loftis of Kissimmee, FL and Heather Mettevelis of Clermont, FL; and several great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004 at Whitfield Funeral Home with Father John Hays officiating. Mr. Piro was born March 26, 1916 in Chicago, IL to Peter and Frances, nee Marino, Piro. He was a barber, a decorated veteran of the Army serving in WWII in Germany, a member of the Pistoleers Club of Chicago and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills.
