Could the next enigmatic, high-strung “CSI” team leader be Gary Sinise? According to industry reporters, the Emmy winner and Oscar nominee is in ongoing talks with CBS and the show’s producers about possibly toplining “CSI: New York,” the latest installment in the network’s powerhouse franchise.
Talks with Sinise have reportedly been on-again, off-again. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that discussions have resumed.
Vanessa Ferlito, who played a drug lord’s girlfriend on “24” this season, is switching to law enforcement for her next role and will join the cast of the latest spinoff of CBS’ hit crime-drama franchise. Ferlito will play a member of the forensics team in in the “CSI” spinoff, which will be set up in an episode of “CSI: Miami” later this season.
