Injured Colorado Avalanche rookie Steve Moore was moved from a hospital in Vancouver to Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colo., on Saturday.

Moore, who was severely injured in an attack by Vancouver’s Todd Bertuzzi on Monday, returned via chartered jet. He will remain at Craig indefinitely to continue rehabilitation from two cracked vertebrae in his neck, a closed head injury, a concussion and other facial injuries.

The Moore family made no comment to the media upon arrival in Denver and said it won’t for the foreseeable future. The incident remains under police investigation in Vancouver.

The Avalanche will be without two players for the next few weeks after forwards Alex Tanguay (sprained knee) and Dan Hinote (dislocated shoulder) were hurt Friday at Phoenix.

Support for Bertuzzi

Meanwhile, in Vancouver several hundred Canucks fans held a rally Saturday night in support of Bertuzzi, who has been suspended for the season and playoffs for his attack on Moore.

The group, numbering between 300 and 500 people, marched around the Canucks’ arena and up several blocks to hear speakers. T-shirts reading “Free Bert” were quickly bought.

“All these people out here just want him to know that we still love him,” said Susan Hickey, who held up a banner that read “In Todd We Trust.”
